Warner Series
This is a crucial point in time for Legacy. The progress since the MSA - during the first 10 years of Legacy's existence - will be remembered as a turning point in the battle against tobacco use and an important public health achievement. While there have been many changes in policy, protection, education and more, Legacy's role as a leader and convener has positioned the organization at the center of many of these accomplishments, both for the past 10 years and in the decade to come.
At Legacy's core is innovation. Legacy always takes a unique, but measured approach to the challenges of the tobacco epidemic. While great progress has been made, tobacco control communities remain eager for bold leadership on controversial subjects to provide direction and new ideas.
As part of our 10-year Anniversary, Legacy hopes to be the facilitator for this debate, responsible for the "collecting of ideas, opinions and aspirations" from across the social marketing/tobacco control spectrum.
These forums are a cost-efficient way to capitalize on existing events where thought leaders in tobacco control are already convening. This gives Legacy an opportunity to encourage a dialogue among the public health community related to developing a comprehensive, collaborative plan for the next 10 years in tobacco control. It also provides practical tools and guidance for implementation through online and print dissemination.
Named for founding Legacy Board member and health economist, Kenneth E. Warner, Legacy hosts Warner Series lectures to further discussion and knowledge on topics of relevance to public health and tobacco control. Past topics include:
