Legacy Innovative Grants (LIG)

The American Legacy Foundation is currently accepting Letters of Intent for its Innovative Grants program.

All submissions for this round must be received by Friday, January 16, 2009 at 5pm.

The foundation uses an online application system to accept Letters of Intent and Full Proposals. All grant proposals should be submitted online. However, if you are unable to complete the application online, please contact the grants department at (202) 454-5555, and we will mail you an application. In order to develop your proposal, you will need the Budget Request Form template. Please download and save this document to your computer desktop. You will need to include a completed version of the template in the application.

When you are ready to submit your Letter of Intent through the online application system, please follow these steps:

STEP 1: Set up online account at: https://www.grantrequest.com/SID_215?SA=SNA&FID=35025 

NOTE: When you select Save & Finish Later, you must always log in as an existing applicant by clicking on the link in Step 1 to access your saved application.

STEP 2: Complete Organizational Information

STEP 3: Upload the following documents:

A. Letter of Intent

Please provide a succinct overview of the proposed project.  The letter of intent must not exceed three double-spaced pages.  The letter must follow the guidelines entitled, "Legacy Innovation Fund Program Letter of Intent Guidelines" posted on the Legacy website.

B. Budget Form

Please use the Budget Form template located at http://www.americanlegacy.org/1710.aspx. When you press the link, a new Browser window will open.  Please select and save the Budget Form template to your personal computer.  To select and save it, press the right button on your mouse and choose "Save Target As" to save the template to your computer.  Once you have saved the file, please enter in the appropriate information and upload the file as an attachment to this application.

  C. Budget Narrative

Please provide a line item explanation and justification for expenses identified in the Budget Form. Line item expenses in excess of $1,000 must include a narrative justification and identify the base unit cost, if applicable. Please also identify any expenses, such as travel per diem or honorarium, which reflect the applicant's established policies.

The Foundation will not review Letters of Intent that do not include the above materials.
